[ If H&P indeed didn't pay royalties for Unisys' GIF algorithm, they might not be forced to close per se, but if this is indeed true, and Unisys decides to sue, they might have to pay some serious fines. Also note that while this is not in unmoderated, it's highly speculative, unconfirmed and generally should be taken with the usual grain of salt - CK ]

Here is the legal definition of the word "libel":
"Any written, printed, or pictorial statement that damages a person by defaming his character or exposing him to ridicule".
None of the things I have said with respect to MorphOS comes under that heading.
I am not defaming anybody's character, I have not even identified a specific person.
According to the penal codes of Luxemburg (www.ann.lu) and Belgium (residence), none of the statements I made come under the criminal offense "libel".
This is where the discussion ends for me.
